Who I Am
I am a graduate journalism student at Northwestern University in the Chicago Investigative Lab specialization.
I am also a storyteller and an observer.
I have spent many years of my life outside the United States, living in multiple different countries before moving to Cumming, Georgia, in 2019. Traveling so much in my childhood and being exposed to such a vast array of cultures gave me a deep curiosity about the world around me and a desire to document it. That, combined with a love for storytelling, is what eventually drew me towards a career in journalism, looking particularly at topics of culture, community, diversity and equity.
Through the Chicago Investigative Lab, I hope to further build on these interests by pursuing stories that focus on immigration and other social justice issues that shape cultural identities and interactions.
I have much to learn and much, much more of the world to document, and I cannot wait to see where my journey in journalism will take me.
What I've Done
I am an editorial assistant at Georgia Magazine, UGA’s flagship publication, and I also serve on the staff for The Red & Black, our campus news publication, as head desk editor for the Culture and Dining desk.
Through avenues like coursework, The Red & Black and the UGA Cox Institute Writing Lab, I’ve produced multiplatform stories ranging from cultural event coverages and local profiles to long-form explorations of poverty and access to mental healthcare in Georgia and overcrowding on UGA’s campus, all the way to solutions journalism pieces highlighting Danish culture after studying abroad in Copenhagen.
I’ve also continued to expand on both my professional and multimedia skills by heading the Photo and Video Team for a campus publication called The Chapel Bell, and most recently, spending the summer interning with the Southeast newsroom at CNN.
